Halite 0.3.1 is a free BitTorrent client. It allows you not only to download torrent files, but to prepare a .torrent file from files in your PC. This way, you will be able to share any file or group of files that you want, with other members of the P2P community. This files will be distributed by the trackers to anyone willing to download them, allowing you, for example, to let everyone hear your music, read your book or watch your videos, just to mention some of the possibilities. The program lets you decide how many parts your torrent will have, and its size. Of course, you will be able to download torrents from others. As Halite doesn´t include a search engine, you won´t be able to double click over a torrent to begin downloading it, as in other BitTorrent clients. Instead, you will have to download .bittorrent files using your regular browser, and then open them with Halite. That will begin the downloading process. The program will allow you to change the settings of the program, such as the language you want to use, the GUI you prefer, TCP Port to use, number of half-open connections, port forwarding, IP filtering, Global Limits and Torrent Defaults. |
